Glowing Text
1. Open a new image, 500 x 150, with a black or white background. For the sake of this tutorial I chose white.
2. In the color palette on the right side of your screen, choose as the foreground color the color you want your glow to be. For the sake of this tutorial I chose a bright green.
3. Click on the text tool. Choose the font you want to use and the size. Make sure that floating and antialias is checked, and also that you changed your text color to the color you want your glow to be. Enter your text and click OK. For this tutorial I used the font Pooh, size 48.
4. Use the mover tool to place the text in the center of the image or wherever you want it. Your text should be selected with little ants marching around it.
5. Go to IMAGE/OTHER/DILATE. Do this three times.
6. Go to SELECTIONS/MODIFY/EXPAND and expand to 2. Then go to IMAGE/BLUR and do that three times.
7. Chose your text tool again. Use the same settings except change the text color to black for a black background, or white for a white background. Click OK.
8. Use your mover tool to place this text on top of the glowing text you just made. Then go to SELECTIONS/SELECT NONE.
And Viola! You have glowing text like the image below :o)
